The curcuit boards
The most frequently changed parts are the custom made curcuit boards. Microcontroller, Controllerboards amon other things had to be sandwiched betwwen the top and bottom plate. To make all that happen we had to make the necessary curcuit boards ourselve, on the plus side we also made a custom driver board for our LED lights.
We had a bright idea!
To get the two cylinder properly positioned they have to get to the position zero at start. This was first realized using a mechanical switch wich was not as reliable as we would have liked. This got swapped out for a photocell. The stepper motors work great, but just to be sure the cylinders realign automatically after 20 cocktails. Better be safe than sorry!
Make it stop!
The cylinders don't need to just move they also need to be stopped at the aprpoiate ingredients. As is commonly known every electric motor is also a generator. When breaking the electric energy from the motor need to be savely handeld. To accomplish that we use capacitors, this also prevents overvoltage on other parts.
