The computer
The single board computer is the core of the cocktail machine. It runs the graphical interface for ordering and the database with ingredients and availabele coacktails. he also communicates to the aruinos and controls the motors with them. The Raspberry Pi positioned himself as a cost-effective allrounder, he also has the possibility to communicate with other components of all sorts directly on board.
The microcontroller
At first we tried using a MSP430FR5739 microcontrolle. After many tutorials and countless hours of slow progress we decided to use another microcontroller. It is still a great piece of technology but unfortunetly out of scope for us and this project. We bought an Adruino UNO and some Adruino Pro Minis. Because there were much more resourses publicly available for the Adruinio after a relatively short time they could be used to control the motors. So now one Adruini UNO controll the lighting and two Adruino Pro Minis controll the motors.
