The concept

Subsequently, the concept of the cocktail machine is described in more detail.
· Machine

Cylinders

The cylinders are made of stainless steel. Hereupon a plate was lasered, which was then bent and welded. There are some holes for screws included. The lid has additional holes so that the screws can be tightened to fix the cylinder. The material has been chosen very sturdy, so that any size bottles can be attached. In the original design, only a large cylinder with 10 bottles was provided. After we had calculated how heavy this would be and which engine we needed for the drive we had to find an alternative. We then decided to constrict two cylinders with 6 bottles each.

The axles

The axles for the cylinders are also made of stainless steel. At the bottom is a larger mounting ring with some screwdriver erasers. Since a lot of sick can act on the axles, they have to be screwed on very tightly. There are small cable ducts in the axles so that cables can be put into the cylinders from the hull of the cocktail machine. The axes are wrapped with LED strips, which are shielded with a diffusion foil. This allows us to illuminate the inside of the cylinders with even light in all colors. A Wlazenlager is attached to the bottom of the axles, on which the cylinder rests with the bottles. Here, a roller bearing was chosen because the weights on the cylinder are often uneven. Simple ball bearings are attached to the top of the axles to ensure that the cylinders are well supported.

Thr dosers

As output devices, we have selected simple standard dispensers with 2cl serving volume. The serving volume is important so that many ingredients per cocktail can be dosed correctly. The current dosing units will be replaced by dosing units that are easier to clean. The holders for the dispensers are chosen so that they can be attached well to the cylinder and hold bottles up to 2 liters. In the future, special tanks for the cocktail machine will be manufactured, which are easy to clean and where the liquids are easy to refill.

The fluid output

The first embodiment of the liquid dispensing consisted of an electric motor which raised a ring via a worm gear, which actuated the dispensers. Unfortunately, this process was not efficient and took a long time. Therefore, the mechanism has been replaced by a servomotor, which moves a rocker, which operates the metering device. The process for outputting 2cl will not take much longer.

The glass mechanism

Since there are two cylinders with dispensing devices, the glass must be able to move in between. The glass first turns on the left cylinder, then the right cylinder and then back to the center. If no ingredients are needed from one of the cylinders, it will be skipped. It was only planned to use a stepper motor for the movement of the arm. The first engine was too weak and the second engine moved the glass too hectically. Now a servomotor is used, which moves the glass in many small steps from a to b.
